ДИМИТРИЈЕ ТЈАПКИН, редовни члан АИНС од 1998. године, редовни професор Електротехничког факултета у Београду у пензији, рођен је 1926. године у Пећи, од оца Аркадија и мајке Вере Иванов, где је завршио гимназију 1945. Дипломирао на Електротехничком факултету 1950. године, где је и докторирао. На ЕТФ-у је од 1950. године као асистент, а за редовног професора изабран је 1971. Упоредо је радио у развоју фабрике Никола Тесла, Конструкционом бироу ваздухопловне индустрије, Електронској лабораторији Института у Винчи 1953-1957. и Институту за физику од 1963. (1966-1971. био помоћник и заменик директора). На ЕТФ био шеф Катедри за електротехничке материјале (1965-1975.) и за микроелектронику и техничку физику (1982-1991); старешина Одсека за техничку физику од 1971. до 1975, продекан (1969/71) и декан (1975/77). На специјализацијама у укупном трајању од око годину дана био у Physical-Technical Institute, Braunschweig, the Semiconductor Institute of the Polish AS and the RD Lab of Thomson-CSF company, Paris, све из области технологије полупроводничких компоненти. Године 1974. изабран за члана Научног друштва Србије; 1997. за дописног члана Европске академије наука, уметности и књижевности (Académie Européenne des Sciences, des Arts et des Lettres, Paris), а за редовног члана Инжењерске Академије Југославије 1998. Члан је Друштва за ЕТРАН од оснивања (1953.), а почасни члан Председништва од 1997. Од 1954. до 1959. био је члан Одбора за полупроводнике Савезне комисије за нуклеарну енергију. У својству потпредседника координационог одбора за праћење реализације САС-а о развоју микроелектронике у Србији (1984-1987), такође утиче на развој његове струке. У оквиру ових активности био је и међу истакнутим организаторима научних и стручних, домаћих и међународних скупова.

За свој рад добио је многа признања (преко тридесет), од којих се наводе: Повеља – Седмојулска награда за 1963. год. за рад на технологији полупроводника и успешну разраду процеса њихове производње у нашој земљи (коауторство); Орден рада са црвеном заставом, додељен 29.4.1983; Октобарска награда града Београда за највредније достигнуће у 1991. год. за дело у области физичке електронике полупроводника (коауторство); Велика повеља ЕТРАН-а за изузетан допринос развоју научне и стручне мисли у области микроелектронике (2006). Учествујући у оснивању Одсека за техничку физику 1955. на ЕТФ у Београду увео је и конципирао наставу из области физике и физичке електронике чврстог тела и физике материјала уопште; ово се односи како на редовне тако и на постдипломске студије на универзитетима у Београду и Нишу.

Професионална оријентација проф. Тјапкина су електронске полупроводничке компоненте (технологија и физичка електроника). Иницијатор је формирања Групе за полупроводнике при ЕТФ-у (1955.), која је развила прве диоде и транзисторе у земљи, касније произвођене у ЕИ у Нишу. На тај начин проф. Тјапкин се може сматрати творцем области физичке електронике полупроводника и уопште науке о материјалима код нас. Један је од оснивача Катедре за електротехнички материјал као и Лабораторије за технологију електротехничког материјала и Елементе електронских уређаја (1954.) а оснивач је Лабораторије за полупроводнике (1967.) на ЕТФ-у у Београду, која је преузела део истраживања првобитне Групе и која је сада прерасла у Центар наноструктуре, наноелектронику и нанофотонику.

Аутор је или коаутор преко 200 научних или стручних радова од чега преко 50 у реномираним међународним публикацијама, 9 радова су прегледни чланци, односно поглавља у монографијама или уводна предавања. У последњих 20 година цитиран је преко 170 пута. Извео је преко 200 дипломских радова и учествовао у око 40 докторских односно 80 магистарских теза (од тога је био ментор 18 односно 39 теза). Од 1958. до 1994. био је аутор је 8 универзитетских уџбеника. Они представљају и (готово једину) домаћу литературу из ове области. Руководио је или сарађивао на већем броју примењених и фундаменталних пројеката.

Најважнија научна остварења су, како следи: увођење »струјне« концепције одређивања капацитивности п-н спојева и МИСИМ структура; моделовање појава пробоја у п-н спојевима са формулисаним новим температурским ефектима; развијање (самосагласних) метода за прорачун проводности у (јако) допираним полупроводницима у врло широком дијапазону садржаја примеса (1:106); проучавање квантизације електричним пољем у инверзним слојевима, МИС структурама, квантним јамама и суперрешеткама. Најважнија оригинална стручна остварења су развој полупроводничких направа (првих диода и транзистора) за Електронску индустрију, Ниш; два типа интегратора малих струја јонских снопова; уређаји за одређивање специфичне отпорности и времена живота у полупроводницима; нов метод за одређивање произвољног профила П-Н прелаза итд.

Проф. Тјапкин је развио научно-истраживачку међународну сарадњу са многим институцијама: Central research laboratory, CSF (Laboratoire Central de Recherches, Thomson-CSF, Paris); Laboratory for Electroluminescence FIAN, Moscow; Department for Semicondustors, Poland Academy of Science. Сарадња се касније успешно проширује на Ecolé Normale Superieure, Pairs, University in Exeter, in Moscow Lomonosov“ University, итд. Проф. Тјапкин је ожењен (супруга Слободанка, проф. универзитета у пензији); имају два сина, Владимира и Николу, као и 2 унуке, Ану и Јелену.

 

DIMITRIJE TJAPKIN, full member AESS from 1998, professor emeritus at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Belgrade, was born in 1926. in Peć, father Arkadij and mother Vera Ivanov. He graduated from the High School in Peć in 1945. He graduated in 1950. at the School of Electrical Engineering, Belgrade University, from which he also received his PhD. He became a teaching assistant with the ETF, Belgrade, in 1950 and a full professor in 1971. He also worked with the RD of Nikola Tesla, Belgrade (1950), Air Force Construction Dept, Electronics Lab of Vinča Institute and the Institute of Physics, Belgrade since 1963. (assistant manager 1966-1971); the Chair of the Department of El. Materials at the ETF, Belgrade (1965-1975), of Microelectronics and Engineering Physics Department (1982-1991); Head of the Engineering Physics Dept. 1971-1975, Vice Dean (1969-1971) and Dean (1975-1977). He received his professional training at the Physical-Technical Institute, Braunschweig, the Semiconductor Institute of the Polish AS and the RD Lab of Thomson-CSF company, Paris. In 1974 he became a member of the Serbian Scientific Society. He became a member of the Académie Européenne des Sciences, des Arts et des Lettres, Paris in 1997, and a full member of the Engineering Academy of Yugoslavia in 1998. He was a member of ETRAN since its foundation in 1953, and a honorary member of the ETRAN Board in 1997. From 1954 to 1959 he has been a member of the Committee for semi­conductors of the Federal Commission for Nuclear Energy. As a vice president of the Coordination Council for Imple­mentation of SAS for microelectronics in Serbia (1984-1987) he also influenced this profession. Within these activities he also was one of the distinguished organizers of scientific and professional, national and international conferences.

He received many recognitions for his work (over thirty), including the 7th July Award for 1963 for the work on technology of semiconductors and for the successful development of production process in Yugoslavia (co-authorship); Worker's Medal with Red Flag, 1983; October Prize of the City of Belgrade, 1991 for the outstanding accomplishment, for the work in the field of physical electronics of semiconductors (coauthor); the Great Charter of the ETRAN for extraordinary advancement of the scientific and technological thought in the field of microelectronics.

As a participant in establishing the Department of Engineering Physics at the ETF, he introduced and outlined teaching of physics and physical electronics of solid state and physics of materials generally, in the undergraduate and graduate studies; this is also valid for the undergraduate and graduate studies at the Niš and Belgrade University.

Prof. Tjapkin's professional orientation includes electronic semiconductor devices (technology and physical electronics). He innitiated forming of the Semiconductors Group at the ETF (1955), which developed the first diodes and transistors in the country. Thus prof. Tjapkin is considered a creator of the fields Physical electronics of semiconductors and Science of electronic materials generally. He is one of the founders of the Department of Electrotechnical Materials, the Laboratory for Technology of Electronics Materials and Electronic components (1954) and the founder of the Laboratory for semiconductors (1967.) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Belgrade, which subsequently grew to the Center of Na nostructures, Nanoelectronic and Nanophotonics.

He is the author or coauthor of over 200 scientific papers, including over 50 papers in leading international publications. His papers were cited over 170 times in the last 20 years, 9 papers are reviews, chapters in monographs or invited lectures. He mentored over 200 BSc theses; He took part in about 40 Ph.D. and 80 MSc theses (of which he was the mentor of 18 and 39, respectively). He authored 8 university textbooks published from 1958 to 1994. These books represent the almost only existing technical literature in Serbian language in this field. He participated (as a leader or collaborator) in a large number of applied and fundamental projects.

His most important scientific achievements are the introduction of the “current” concept of determining p-n junction MISIM capacitance; p-n junctions breakdown modeling and the formulation of new temperature effects (1984); the development of (self-consistent) methods for calculation of conductance in heavily doped semiconductors in a wide range of impurity concentrations (1:106), studies of electric field quantization in inverse layers, MIS structures, quantum wells and super-lattices.

His most important professional achievements are the development of semiconductor devices (diodes and transistors) for Electronic Industry, Niš; two types of integrators of small ion beam currents; devices for determining the resistivity and life-time of carriers in semiconductors; a method for determining arbitrary p-n junction profiles, etc.

Prof. Tjapkin has developed international research cooperation with many institutions: Central research laboratory, CSF (Laboratoire Central de Recherches, Thomson-CSF, Paris); Laboratory for Electroluminescence FIAN, Moscow; Department for Semicondustors, Poland Academy of Science. This cooperation was later successfully expanded to the Ecolé Normale Superieure, Pairs, University in Exeter, in Moscow »Lomonosov« University, etc. Prof. Tjapkin is married (wife Slobodanka, university professor emeritus). They have two sons, Vladimir and Nikola, as well as two granddaughters, Ana and Jelena.
