РАДЕ ЈЕЛЕНКОВИЋ, дописни члан АИНС од 2004. године, (име оца – Јеленко Јеленковић, име мајке – Гордана Јовановић) је рођен 26. марта 1960. године у Краљеву, Србија. Дипломирао је на Смеру за истраживање лежишта минералних сировина Рударско-геолошког факултета 1982. године. Постдипломске студије на Рударско-геолошком факултету Универзитета у Београду, научна област: Истраживање лежишта минералних сировина, уписао је 1982. године. Магистрирао је 1986. године на теми ''Геолошке карактеристике лежишта урана Циганкуља-Подгробље''. Докторску дисертацију под називом ''Металогенија урана у рејону Букуље'' је одбранио на истом факултету 1987. године.

Докторска дисертација др Радета Јеленковића је награђена 1988. године наградом из Фонда „Милан Милићевић, инжењер геологије” као најбољи научно-истраживачки рад младог научног радника објављен из области геологије 1987. године.

Професионалну активност др Раде Јеленковић је започео 1983. године запослењем у Институту за истраживање нуклеарних и других минералних сировина – Геоинститут из Београда. Од 1986. године је у радном односу на Рударско-геолошком факултету Универзитета у Београду. У звање редовног професора је изабран 2001. године за предмете Лежишта металичних минералних сировина и Лежишта минералних сировина.

На редовним студијама Рударско-геолошког факултета, др Раде Јеленковић одржава наставу из следећих научних дисциплина: Лежишта минералних сировина, Лежишта металичних минералних сировина, Металични минерални ресурси и Генеза рудних лежишта. На постдипломским студијама одржава наставу из предмета Лежишта минералних сировина, Методе прогнозирања минералних сировина и Изабрана поглавља из Генезе рудних лежишта.

У периоду од пријема на Рударско-геолошки факултет до данас, др Раде Јеленковић је обављао следеће дужности: Заменик Шефа Смера за истраживање лежишта минералних сировина (1995-2002), Заменик Шефа Геолошког одсека Рударско-геолошког факултета (2000-2002). Данас се налази на месту Шефа Департмана за економску геологију и Шефа Катедре за економску геологију.

Године 2001 ка стипендиста Републичког фонда за науку Србије и Max-Planck Института, др Раде Јеленковић је боравио на Max-Planck Institut fur Kernphisik, Heidelberg (Немачка), на специјализацији из области: Рудна микроскопија, Електронска микроанализа и Генеза лежишта минералних сировина.

Члан је следећих стручних и научних асоцијација и друштава: Српско геолошко друштво, Савез инжењера и техничара Србије, Society of Economic Geology. Др Раде Јеленковић је био члан Одбора за астро и геонауке Министарства за науку, технологије и развој Републике Србије (од 2001. године), члан Одбора за астро и геонауке Министарства науке и заштите животне средине Републике Србије (од 2004. године), члан Научног већа Геоинститута-Београд (2001-2004), члан Управног одбора Геоинститута (од 2004. год.), члан Савета за геологију РТБ Бор (2001. год.), Председник Комисије за утврђивање и оверу резерви минералних сировина Републике Србије (од 2004. године). Др Раде Јеленковић је члан Редакционог одбора часописа ''Геолошки анали Балканског полуострва'' (од 2003. год.) о члан организационих и научних одбора већег броја научних скупова националног и међународног карактера. За дописног члана Академије инжењерских наука изабран је 2004. године.

У периоду од 1986. године, др Раде Јеленковић је публиковао 131 научни рад. Аутор је и коаутор седам монографија, као и седам уџбеника и помоћних уџбеника. Едитор је два зборника радова са међународних скупова. У протеклом временском периоду др Раде Јеленковић је одржао 11 пленарних предавања (осам на међународним и три на националним научним скуповима). Руководио је израдом три магистарска рада и две докторске дисертације. Научни радови др Радета Јеленковића су презентовани и публиковани у Америци, Аустрији, Бугарској, Грчкој, Кини, Македонији, Немачкој, Републици Српској, Румунији, Словачкој и Турској, а цитирани су више десетина пута.

Др Раде Јеленковић је учествовао у изради бројних привредних пројеката и студија (укупно 43). Био је сарадник у реализацији три међународна пројекта из области геологије (1: IGCP 356 Plate tectonic aspects of the Alpine Metallogeny in the Carpatho-Balkan region; 2: Solar Neutrino Detecion with Tl²⁰⁵- "Loreh Project" и 3: Geodynamics and Ore Deposit Evolution of the Alpine-Balkan-Carpathian-Dinaride Province - ABCD–GEODE).

Најзначајнији део научне активности др Радета Јеленковића се односи на детаљна геолошка истраживања лежишта урана, бакра и злата, разраду критеријума проспекције и истраживања лежишта племенитих и обојених метала Србије, металогенетске анализе металичних минералних сировина Србије и анализу њиховог геотектонског и металогенетског положаја на простору Балканског полустрва као и на регионалне металогенетске анализе и израду прогнозних и металогенетских карата различитих размера.

Др Раде Јеленковић је ожењен. Отац је двоје деце.

RADE JELENKOVIĆ, corresponding member of AESS from 2004., (father’s name – Jelenko Jelenković, mother’s maiden name - Gordana Jovanović), was born on March 26, 1960. in Kraljevo, Serbia. He graduated from the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Department of Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology in 1982. In 1982 he continued postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Belgrade University, scientific area: Mineral deposit exploration, and earned a Master of Science degree on the subject of “Geological characteristics of the Cigankulja-Podgroblje uranium deposit''. He completed his PhD studies at the same Faculty in 1987, with the thesis: ''Uranium metallogeny of the Bukulja district''.

The”Milan Milićević - engineer of the year” fund awarded in 1988. the doctoral dissertation ''Uranium metallogeny of the Bukulja district'' by Rade Jelenkovic as the best young scientific fellow research work published in the field of geology in 1987.

The professional carreer of Dr Rade Jelenković began in 1983 at the Institute for nuclear raw material – “Geoinstitut” in Belgrade. Since 1986, he has been working at the Faculty of Mining and Geology. He was elected as a full professor in 2001, on the subjects of Metallic mineral deposits and Mineral deposits.

At graduate studies, Dr Rade Jelenković lectures in the following scientific disciplines: Mineral Deposits, Metallic mineral deposits and Industrial mineral deposits, Metallic mineral resources and Genesis of Ore Deposits. At postgraduate studies, he lectures in Mineral deposits, Prognosis Methods of Raw Materials and Genesis of Ore Deposits - special chapters.

During his work at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, Dr Rade Jelenković held the following positions: Deputy Head of the Department for Mineral Resources Exploration (1995-2002), Deputy Head of the Geology Department of the Faculty of Mining and Geology (2000-2002). Currently, he is a Head of the Department of Mineral Resources Exploration and Head of the Cathedra for Economic Geology.

As a bursar of the Government Science foundation of Serbia and the Max-Planck Institute, Dr Rade Jelenković specialized at the Max-Planck Institute for Nuclear Science in 1991 in the fields of Ore Microscopy, Electron Microprobe Analyses and the Genesis of Ore Deposits.

He is a member of following scientific associations and societies: Serbian Geological Society, Society of engineers and technicians of Serbia and Society of Еconomic Geologists. Since 2001, Dr Rade Jelenković has been a member of the astro and geo-sciences board of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Development, a member of the astro and geo-sciences board of the Ministry of Science and Enviroment of the Republic Serbia, a member of the Scientific Board of the Geoinstitute-Belgrade (2001-2004), member of the Managing Board of Geoinstitute (since 2004.), member of the RTB Bor Geology Counsel (2001), President of the Comission for Mineral Reserve estimations and confirmations of the Republic Serbia (since 2004), member of the Geology Council of the Ministry of Science and Environment of the Republic of Serbia (since 2004). Dr Rade Jelenković is from 2003 a member of the Editiorial Board of “The Geological Annals of Balkan Peninsula”, and a member of organizational and scientific boards numerous national and international scientific congresses.

Since 1986, Dr Rade Jelenković has published 131 scientific papers. He is author or coauthor of seven monographs as well as seven books and manuals. He is an editor of two proceedings of international scientific meeting. So far, Dr Rade Jelenković has held 9 plenary lectures (6 on international and 3 on national scientific meetings). Two doctoral works and three magisteriums were completed under his guidance. Scientific works of Dr Rade Jelenković were presented and published in USA, Austria, Bulgaria, Greece, China, Macedonia, Germany, Republic of Srpska, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey, and cited many times in domestic and international scientific papers.

Dr Rade Jelenković participated in the completion of numerous projects and reports in the field of economy, as well as research projects and research studies (43 in total). He was collaborated in 3 international scientific projects in the field of geology (1: IGCP 356 Plate tectonic aspects of the Alpine Metallogeny in the Carpatho-Balkan region; 2: Solar Neutrino Detection with Tl²⁰⁵- "Lorex Project" and 3: Geodynamics and Ore Deposit Evolution of the Alpine-Balkan-Carpathian-Dinaride Province - ABCD–GEODE).

The most important part of Dr Rade Jelenković’s scientific activity is related to the detailed geological exploration of uranium and copper-gold deposits, prospection criteria development for geological exploration of precious, base metals and copper ores of the Serbia, metallogenic analyses of metallic raw-materials of Serbia and their geotectonic and metallogenic space and time positions at Balkan peninsula, as well as regional metallogenic analysis and construction of prognostic and metallogenic maps in diferent scales.

Dr Rade Jelenković is married and father of two children.
